Post #60: In which I impersonate Michael J. Fox

3 Jul

July 1st was Canada Day, and this year my American co-workers and I decided to surprise a Canadian colleague by throwing a red-and-white, maple-themed, Canadian celebrity-filled surprise party. Here’s what we did:

We decorated her desk with photos of her famous compatriots, and a handmade card we all signed.

Using the power of technology, we had co-workers send her emails from famous Canadians. In this screenshot, you can see emails from Anne of Green Gables, Michael J. Fox, Avril Lavigne, Conraid Bain (that's Mr. Drummond to you), and Michael Cera. Later in the day she even received an email from a deceased former Prime Minister. Aweomse, eh?

Steve made this amazing Canadian flag for above her desk, and decorated the entire office with red and white streamers and balloons.

We attempted to sing the Canadian national anthem, and Julia even made a Maple Sugar Pie (not pictured) to honor the occasion.
