Report from Iron Chef 2: Cinnamon

21 May

A few weeks ago, my co-workers and I held our second Iron Chef competition. This time the special ingredient was cinnamon. I have to say, we raised the bar on this one. The competition was red hot.

Entry #1: Strawberry Salad with Cinnamon Vinaigrette

Entry #2: Cinnamon-y Pilaf

Entry #3: Roasted Carrot and Chickpea Salad with Cinnamon

Entry #4: Arroz Con Leche

Entry #5: Cinnamon Rolls

Entry #6: Cinnamon Swirl Ice Cream

Entry #7: Cinnamon Cake with Nutella Buttercream

Pretty cinnsational, don’t you think?

Everyone really brought their A game, but in the end there can only be one office Iron Chef (until the next one). This time the trophy was passed from Anne to Lorene, in recognition of her cinnfully delicious homemade Cinnamon Swirl Ice Cream. It was off the hook good.

The next Iron Chef theme to look forward to: Layers!
